LaPatro
Handcrafted sourdough for a strictly-limited membership. We built the gated commerce layer — a cart reserved for accepted members, pickup dates LaPatro configures from Shopify — for an experience as considered as the loaves themselves.
From a folder of references to a members-only bakery, end to end.
LaPatro came in with a folder of visual references and a barely-formed idea of how to sell handcrafted sourdough — a product that's strictly limited every week. We took those references through the design and into the build in the same passes, shaping the store, the membership rules, and the email templates in parallel. The brief settled in conversation; the answer settled in code.
- — Established bakery
- — Strict weekly capacity
- — A folder of visual references
- — No digital infrastructure
A public catalogue, a private cart.
The catalogue is public — anyone can browse the loaves. Adding to cart is reserved for accepted members. The gate sits at the cart, not at the door.
Members pick a pickup date before checkout. LaPatro configures which days are open and how many slots each day holds from the Shopify admin; the counter ticks down live as members claim their spots.
The visual language emerged alongside the code — store sections, member surfaces, email templates — so the brand and the mechanics arrived at the same time, refined together until LaPatro was completely happy.
A members-only bakery built on Shopify with a gated cart and pickup-date scheduling. The catalogue is public on purpose; the cart is private — and every week is shaped by what the bakery can actually make.
